My Top Ten Animal Welfare List for 2013
That 2013 brings an end to Breed Specific Legislation in Ontario, which has killed more than 1,000 dogs in Ontario since this cruel law was passed by our failed and broken Ontario Liberal government;
That the Lincoln County Humane Society (LCHS) in St. Catharines, Ontario, ends its rampant killing of animals instead of finding homes for healthy and adoptable cats, dogs and other small animals;
That the LCHS Board of Directors ends its corrupt ways and issues memberships to taxpaying citizens;
That St. Catharines mayor, Brian McMullen, and all, but four, city councillors see fit to end their spineless ways and stop funding the LCHS with taxpayers’ monies until the high kill rate and corruption STOPS at the LCHS;
That Marineland in Niagara Falls is finally shut down, ending the cruelty that has been inflicted for so many years, and that mayor Jim Diodati does the right thing and puts animal welfare ahead of dollar signs;
That Liberal premier Dalton McGuinty, former A-G Michael Bryant, MPP Jim Bradley, and all other spineless provincial politicians do the right thing and stop animal abuse and cruelty in Ontario, as well as never being able to pass such cruel laws again;
That LCHS Board president, Ann Davidson, realizes the error of her ways and steps down, allowing a more principled, qualified individual to head the LCHS Board;
That LCHS executive director, Kevin Strooband, realizes the error of his ways and steps down, allowing a more principled, qualified individual to head the LCHS office;
That more worthy individuals and organizations that actually care about animals don’t have to jump through hoops and “fight City Hall” (reality in our case) to simply help animals in St. Catharines;
That more animals aren’t abused, neglected, tortured or killed anywhere.
